With its picturesque Bavarian old town, array of museums, vibrant arts scene and famous Oktoberfest, Munich is one of the most exciting and varied cities in Europe. Set in the tranquil Old Botanical Garden close to the Stachus, all exciting sites and places can be reached within a short walk or metro ride. The main station is in 10 minutes walking distance and the Franz-Josef-Strauss Airport can be reached by car within 40 minutes.
Also close by are Schloss Nymphenburg (palace to the Bavarian kings and a Baroque splendour), the 18th-century Asamkirche and the delightful Marienplatz, Munich's old city centre with its outdoor cafés and splendid neo-Gothic town hall. Not to be missed either are the Englischer Garten (Europe's largest park, which stretches for 3 miles along the River Isar), the Nationaltheater Opera House and, of course, the world famous biergarten and beer halls such as Hofbräuhaus.

By car from the South:
From the South take the A95 highway Garmisch- Patenkirchen, get off at Muenchen-Sendling, and turn left into Luise-Kiesselbach-Platz. Keep straight on Garmischer Strasse for 3 km. Leave the Garmischer Strasse and keep straight on into the Trappentreustrasse for 700 metres. Leave the Trappentreustrasse and go straight to Donnersbergerbruecke for 400 metres. Leave Donnersbergerbruecke and get into Arnulfstrasse. Follow the road for 2 km. Turn left on Seidlstrasse straight ahead for 200 metres. Leave the Seidlstrasse and turn right into Marsstrasse. Follow the road for 300 metres. Leave the Marsstrasse and go straight into Elisenstrasse. Leave the Elisenstrasse and turn left into Luisenstrasse and turn right into Sophienstrasse immediately. The Charles Hotel is then located directly on your left side.
By car from the West:
From the West take highway A8 Stuttgart. The Highway takes you into the city centre. Follow directions to city centre. You get into a traffic circle. Take the exit Verdistrasse. Keep on Verdistrasse for 2.3 km. Leave Verdistrasse and keep straight on Amalienburgstrasse for 600 metres. Leave Amalienburgstrasse and keep straight on Menzingerstrasse for 2 km. Follow to Menzingerstrasse then Notburgastrasse, pass Romanplatz and turn left into Arnulfstrasse. Keep straight and follow Arnulfstrasse for 4 km and make al left on Seidlstrasse. Leave Seidlstrasse and turn right into Marsstrasse. Leave the Marsstrasse and go straight into Elisenstrassee. Leave the Elisenstrassee after 100 metres, turn left into Luisenstrasse and turn right into Sophienstrasse immediately. The Charles Hotel is then located directly on your left side.
By car from the East:
From the East take highway A8 Salzburg. Get off the A8 and keep straight on the Innsbrucker Ring. Follow the Road for 2.3 km and go into Leuchtenbergring for 1 km. Leave Leuchtenbergring and turn left into Prinzregentenstrasse. Follow the road for 2 km. Keep straight on the Von-der-Tann-Strasse for 500 metres. Leave Von-der-Tann-Strasse and keep straight on the Oskar-von-Miller-Ring. Follow the road for 600 metres and leave Oskar-von-Miller-Ring and keep straight on the Maximiliansplatz. On the Maximiliansplatz turn right into Brienner Strasse. Follow the road over the Karolinenplatz about 900 metres. Turn left into Meiserstrasse and after 300 metres turn right into Sophienstrasse. The Charles Hotel is located on the right hand side.
From Munich Central Station „Hauptbahnhof“:
Leave the train station through the main entrance. Turn to the left and walk down the road. After two traffic lights you see already The Charles Hotel on your right hand side. The Hotel entrance is facing the Old Botanical Garden. The journey from the Central Station to the Hotel takes about five minutes.
With local transportation from Franz-Joseph-Strauss Airport (MUC):
Follow the signs within the terminal to LOCAL RAILWAY STATION. Purchase a ticket EINZELFAHRT MUENCHEN from one of the ticket machines. The price per ticket per way is 8.80 EURO. The S-Bahn (suburban train) line 1 or 8 goes directly to Munich city centre, Central Station. Leave the train station through the main entrance. Turn to the left and walk down the road. After two traffic lights you see already The Charles Hotel on your right hand side. The Hotel entrance is facing the Old Botanical GardenThe journey from the Airport to the Hotel takes you about 50 minutes (without waiting time).

Please ask for our exclusive limousine service and shuttle transfer, provided by our partner INTERLINE.
Limousine (Mercedes S-Class or BMW 7) three Passengers, or Van de Luxe max. five – seven Passengers. The guest will meet the driver after the baggage claim area, holding a sign with the guest name. The price per transfers from and to Franz-Joseph-Strauss Airport, including pick-up from the arrival terminal will be 150 EURO per way. Cancellation policy is 24 hours prior the arrival time.
