The Tyrol born Heinz Winkler counts to the best chefs of the world for more than two decades. As chef of the Munich 'Tantris' he became the world's youngest 3-star-chef at the age of 31. Until today, there has been no younger chef awarded this way.
In 1988 the 'Club of Chefs of Chefs', an organization of chefs working for queens and government heads, made him an honorary member as one of few autonomous master chefs. In 2001 he received the Federal Cross of Merit from prime minister Edmund Stoiber.
