By Car:
Arriving from the north:
- Take the A42 Hannover-Oberhausen and exit at junction Essen-Nord onto the B224 towards Essen.
- Continue along the B224 Gladbecker Straße – Grillostraße, passing the University of Essen on your left-hand side.
- Continue along Hans-Böckler-Straße and cross over the railway bridge.
- Afterwards turn left onto Krupp-Straße.
- Continue along Krupp Straße until the next roundabout and turn left.
- Pass through the railway underpass.
- At the end turn right make a U-turn at the next opportunity and turn right through the gateway.
Arriving from the south:
- Take the A3 Nürnberg-Frankfurt-Köln-Düsseldorf road.
- Change at the Breitscheider Kreuz onto A52 towards Essen.
- Leave the A52 at the motorway junction Essen-Süd onto Richard Wagner Str.
- Continue along up to the traffic lights before the underpass.
- Turn left, go straight ahead and at the next traffic lights turn right and pass through the railway underpass.
- Then follow the instructions above.
Arriving from the west:
- Take the A40 Duisburg-Essen road.
- Exit at the Essen-Zentrum junction and follow the left course of the road.
- Go straight ahead at the next crossing and continue along Krupp Straße.
- Then follow the instructions above.
Arriving from the east:
- Take the A40 Dortmund-Essen road.
- Exit at the Essen-Huttrop junction.
- Turn right at the next traffic lights and follow the train tracks.
- Pass through the railway underpass and turn left towards the main train station: Hauptbahnhof.
- On your left-hand side is the Hotel Ibis, continue along and after about 200 metres turn right through the gateway of the Mövenpick Hotel Essen.
Parking:
You can park at the Parkhaus Akazienallee parking garage at the Mövenpick for a special price. The parking garage is controlled by video and is located approximately 100 metres from the hotel. In order to maintain the discount, the parking ticket has to be marked at the reception.
By Public Transport:
The main train station is 50 metres away.
The Essen fairground is 4 km away, but a 5 minute journey with the U11.
Düsseldorf Fairground is 28 km away, approximately 1 hour by public transport.
Düsseldorf airport is 28 km away, a 36 minute train journey by the S1.
